Meet the Instruments

The 2nd annual MNSD Elementary “Meet the Instruments” night will be Wed., May 31st from 6:30 – 8:00 PM at Russell School. This is a great opportunity for 3rd & 4th grade parents and students to test drive various musical instruments to determine which instrument they might like to learn in the 2017-18 school year. A MESSAGE FROM DR. CARY FOR PARENTS OF MIDDLE AND HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS

Dear Parents,

Because the health and welfare of your children are our number one priority, I am writing to bring to your attention a concern that surfaced in recent weeks relative to a Netflix series entitled “13 Reasons Why,” a fictional drama about teenage suicide and depression.

NOTICE OF INTENT TO ADOPT FINAL 2017-2018 BUDGET

MARPLE NEWTOWN SCHOOL DISTRICT
BUDGET ADOPTION

The Marple Newtown Board School of Directors, in conformance with Pennsylvania Special Session Act 1 of 2006, hereby gives notice that the proposed final general fund budget for Fiscal Year 2017-2018, in the amount of $81,250,000, was adopted by the Board of School Directors on April 25, 2017 and is available for public inspection. The Board is scheduled to review and adopt said final budget at the regular Board of Directors meeting scheduled for Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at 7:30 p.m. prevailing time, in the Board Room, on the second floor of the District Administration Building, located at 38 Medial Line Road, Newtown Square, Pa. 19073. The budget is available for inspection at the district’s Administration Building, Suite 210, Monday through Friday 8:00am until 4:00pm, and by accessing the district’s website at www.mnsd.org. The proposed final budget may be amended before final adoption.

MNHS AP SCHOLARS

Congratulations to our MNHS students on their performance on the Advanced Placement Exams.  According to the College Board's 2016 report, Marple Newtown High School had:

29 AP Scholar
AP Scholar are students who received a score of 3 or higher on three or more AP Exams.

20 AP Scholar with Honor
AP Scholar with Honor are students who received an average score of 3.25 on all AP Exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on four or more of these exams.

15 AP Scholar with Distinction
AP Scholar with Distinction are students who received an average score of at least 3.5 on all AP Exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on five or more of these exams.

3 National AP Scholar
National AP Scholar are students in the United States who receive an average score of at least 4 on all AP Exams taken, and scores of 4 or higher on eight or more of these exams.

National Merit Scholarship Finalists Announced! 2017 National Merit Finalists

Congratulations to Regina Fairbanks, Phillip Missan, and Sara Danenhower for being named National Merit Scholarship Finalists.  This is a huge honor.  The three of them will now be considered for National Merit Scholarships. Way to go Regina, Phillip, and Sara!!
