Dates to Remember

Dear Parents and Guardians,
           
The Loomis staff is busy preparing for your child’s return to school.  We hope that you had a restful and enjoyable summer.  The teachers and staff are eager to meet their students and to begin the new school year together.

Many exciting programs and activities have been planned for the year.  You will be receiving information about events, programs, activities and procedures in a special opening day packet.  You will find a handbook that includes district policies, forms and procedures as well as those specific to Loomis School.  We hope that you will use this handbook as a reference during the school year.  A monthly newsletter will provide additional information about activities and programs. A weekly communication envelope will be sent home every Wednesday.   Please take the time to read the handbook and forms that you receive the first day of school.

The student day begins at 9:00 a.m.  Playground supervision begins at 8:30 a.m. and students may begin arriving at that time.  Each morning at 8:55 a.m. students line up by homeroom on the line labeled with the room number and proceed to their classroom.  On the first day teachers will come outside to greet children.

The instructional day ends at 3:30 p.m.  Please be sure that your child knows his/her bus number or your plans for pick up at the end of the day.  If you are using the car line, please place an 8 x 11 piece of paper in the windshield with your child’s name to assist the staff that supervises the car line.
