About Us — Car Line & Parking Lot Safety Procedures

           

PARKING LOT SAFETY RULES & CAR LINE PROCEDURES

In order to provide for the safety of all of our students, parents are asked to practice extreme care in our parking lot. All parents and visitors are asked to use the front parking lot where adequate space is available for the entrance and exiting of cars. The small lot behind the cafeteria is reserved for employees and for delivery vehicles. The small size of the staff parking lot makes that lot unsafe for the pick up and drop off of students.

Morning Drop Off

Proceed through the parking lot to the area next to the play area for dropping off students in the nice weather. Stop in the designated drop off area and unload children as quickly as possible while keeping safety in mind. Proceed to the exit.

In the event of bad weather and indoor recess, follow the same procedure but drop children off at the steps in the designated drop off area. However, if a bus should arrive while you’re in line, you must STOP and let the bus precede you as they have the right of way. Children should enter the building through the cafeteria doors.

Dismissal Car Line Procedures

Grades 1-5 dismissal is at 3:30 p.m. Those persons picking up older students may line up at the curb in the drop off/pick up zone ONLY AFTER the kindergarten car line has dispersed. Those of you who arrive prior to 3:30 p.m. may form a car line along the right hand curb (yellow) entering the parking area and WAIT until the kindergarten car line has finished. If you have both a kindergarten student and an older student, please proceed through the kindergarten car line, circle around the island and get into the older student car line.

REMEMBER THESE SAFETY TIPS:

  • Drive slowly, be patient, and stay in line
  • If a bus should arrive, you must stop and let the bus proceed to the curb and unload students
  • Be sure to buckle your child(ren) in the back seat.
  • Do not cut through the islands. This is for buses only.
  • Do not pass vehicles unloading children.
