paw Marple Newtown High School Recognizes Student Athletes

The Winner of the Roar Award for the spring is the girls track team with a cumulative GPA 90.4%.  coached bt Jess Gentile, Jackie DiStefano and Christine Heffernan.

This is part of the “Raising the Bar” program which is the mission statement for the athletic department.  Student athletes are being encouraged to raise the bar in terms of their academics and character.  Six pillars: respect, responsibility, citizenship, sportsmanship, integrity, and hard work have been identified as characteristics that they want the student athletes to model.  They are challenging them to strive to be the best person and student that they can be as they go forward and represent the Marple Newtown School District

pawPremier Orthopedics will be offering sports physicals at Marple Newtown High School in the gymnasium on June 12th from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m for students in grades 9-11.  Physicals will be offered to middle school students in grades 6-8 from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m., also at the high school.  Cost of the exam will be $25 (cash only).  *****This exam will cover the student athlete for the entire school year (2008-2009).  You must obtain the CIPPE form only from either the high school web page, PIAA web site, the athletic office at MNHS, or the main office at Paxon Hollow M.S. and have it filled in and signed by a parent prior to the examination.  If the forms are not signed prior to the exam, the exam can not be given.

These exams will be administered on this date only.  If you miss the date, you can call Premier Orthopedics at the below number to set up one on your own.  All exams for next year must take place after June 1st, 2008.  Anyone planning on attending these physicals should call Alicia at 610-353-0800 x105 to confirm, so we can have an idea as to how many students to expect.
