Guidelines for Journal

During the three weeks of the Senior Project, you will complete one (1) journal page per day and submit the journal to your Faculty Advisor weekly.  The journal will be a record of your ideas and thoughts, not just a checklist of duties on the job.  Each daily entry should be recorded in the designated space and you may use additional paper if needed.  You will record your reactions to, insights about, and perceptions of your working experiences on each day.  The entries must be interesting to read and written in legible sentence form.  The journal will express how the Project helped you achieve your goals and will be invaluable in developing an outline in preparation for the Oral Presentation.  All five topics in part two of the journal must be answered at least once during the Senior Project and one page of the journal must be completed for each day of the Senior Project.

Ø     Complete the cover page of the journal

Ø     Complete the first page of the journal with your Goals

The cover page of the journal is to record the Oral Presentation date, the Faculty Advisor meeting dates, the hours per week spent at the Senior Project, and a checklist of forms needed for the Oral Presentation.  The first page of the journal is to record your Senior Project goals.  If you have forgotten your goals, refer to the proposal.

Ø     Bring Journal to weekly meetings with Faculty Advisor

The first week’s journal must be reviewed by your Faculty Advisor at your meeting during May 24 to 26, 2006 and the second week’s on May 30 to June 2, 2006.  The journal must cover the first two weeks of the project including the last day at the sponsor site and be submitted on the day of your Oral Presentation.  If the student does not have the journal at this time, five points will be deducted from the final grade and he/she will not be eligible to graduate until the journal is returned to the committee.
