The Marple Newtown Renaissance Committee gives recognition
to students who help to create a positive atmosphere in their classes and
school environment.
Three times a year (at the end of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd
marking periods), each staff member may nominate a student to be listed on
the Positive On People (POP)
list.
When nominating a student, faculty consider students who:
· exemplify courtesy and consideration for others
· are cooperative, cheerful and serve as a positive role model for other students
· in the judgment of their teacher, are working to full potential
· exhibit proper care of school materials and equipment
To recognize these students, letters are sent home to parents, they receive a certificate signed by the principal and the nominating teacher and all honorees and their parents are invited to a breakfast to congratulate them and applaud their exemplary behavior.
