2008 Teacher In-service: RAFT Differentiated Writing Activities
At a 2008 in-service the faculty received a demonstration on RAFT (Role/Audience/Format/Title), a strategy for creating differentiated writing activities that can be used for application and assessment of student knowledge in all curricular areas. This strategy was brought to the school through the Penn Literacy Network. Each teacher participating in the course worked with a content area team to create a RAFT project for one of their units. The following are examples of those assignments.
