Last year we began the Renaissance Program at Paxon Hollow Middle School. The program is designed to recognize responsible school citizens. Students who qualified for the Renaissance Program were given the opportunity to participate in many rewarding events/activities. Some of their favorites included: bowling at Wynnewood Lanes, ice skating at the Skatium, and roller skating at C&N Roller Rink. Rewards also included free pretzel days, popsicles, first in line at lunch, and free giveaways at special school events.

As a new year begins, we want to bring to your attention some changes that effect membership requirements (Changes are in bold):

Membership Requirements 2008-2009

1.) No more than 3 excused absences per quarter (Zero unexcused).  (refer to page 3 in the school agenda for school absence policy)
       -Absences include all sick days, as well as approved family educational trips.
       - Sick incidents which involve many consecutive absences will be handled on an individual basis. (A doctor’s note will be required)

2.  No more than 2 excused latenesses per quarter (Zero unexcused).

3. No more than 3 early dismissals per quarter.

4.  No school discipline referrals.

5.  Black Card= no grade lower than a B+ in that quarter
     Orange Card= no grade lower than a C in that quarter

6.  Participation in a school-sponsored club, music program or sport in each quarter.

We are looking forward to another productive year, with a lot of participation in the Renaissance Program.
