Administrative Plans for the Future

The following plans were presented to the Board of School Directors by the Superintendent and Director of Operations.  The plans are intended to be visionary, and will act as guidelines for future Board discussions.  No decisions will be made regarding either plan without full Board discussion and subsequent approval.

No matter how many times the month of September rolls around, none of us ever quite gets over the excitement of the first day of school. Each new year is an opportunity to build on our strengths, whether as educators, students, parents or community partners. I share that excitement and feel privileged and proud to be entering my third year as the Superintendent of the Marple Newtown School District. I am confident that we are well positioned this year to build on our strengths in a significant way and that in the near future, our district will become a model for others in the southeastern region of Pennsylvania. Educators, students, parents and community partners must work together in 2007 – 2008, but watching our children increase their confidence and competencies in and out of the classroom is the best reward I can possibly think of for all of our collaborative work.

Sincerely, Mrs. Merle Horowitz
