Reading Only Sites:

  1. Between the Lions Based on the PBS show. Click on the picture of the lion for this week's games. One game, "Gawain's Word" features two knights jousting. One knight carries a flag with a consonant such as "h", the other with a blend such as "ug." When they meet there is a lovely crashing sound and then you hear the word they form, "hug"! This can then be repeated with other consonants.
  2. Brain teasers This site has games that review lower case letter and pattern recognition, letter sounds, and object identification.
  3. Connect the Dots Click on letters in alphabetic order to see Winnie the Pooh characters
  4. Game Goo Games provide practice in language arts skills, including recognizing upper and lower case letters, alphabetical order, spelling three letter words, distinguishing fiction from nonfiction, and identifying opposites.
  5. Mighty Book Hear stories, songs and jokes. Play games and puzzles.
