Immunizations
. . .
The Pennsylvania
Department of Health requires the following minimum immunizations for
pupils entering or attending school for the first time in Pennsylvania.
From time to time the State adds to the immunization requirements. You
will be notified of these changes and given adequate time to comply. Immunizations
are available without cost or at reduced rates based upon income levels.
Contact your school nurse for further information. These immunizations
must be completed and proof of immunization must be submitted to the school
nurse before students may attend school. If your childs immunizations
are not current or complete, he/she may be excluded from school until
the State regulations have been met.

of Oral Polio Vaccine (OPV) or four (4) doses of injectable Polio
vaccine.
- Two (2) doses
of live Measles Vaccine, preferably given as MMR, with the first dose
given after 12 months of age, or a confirmed case of disease with
blood titer verification. Physician diagnosis of disease is not acceptable.

of live Rubella Vaccine or confirmed case with blood titer verification.
Physician diagnosis of disease is not acceptable.

vaccination] or a physician verified case of the disease.
- Hepatitis B
- three (3) vaccinations properly spaced.
- Varicella (chicken
pox) immunity, either from vaccination (Varivax), history of disease,

-
A TB test may be required, at the School Nurse's discretion, for students who are new to the school or who have not had a recent test.
The School District’s
responsibilities relative to the enforcement of the law will be based
on the following criteria:
- PROOF OF IMMUNIZATION,
rather than parent recall, is required. No child without
a valid exemption shall be enrolled into school if ALL immunizations
are not documented.
- No child without a valid exemption shall be enrolled into school if all immunizations are not documented.
- The immunization
histories of all transfer students must be reviewed for completeness,
and corrective action taken when necessary.
