Principal's Pen

The Principal's Pen is published approximately four times per year, and includes various topics of interest to parents and guardians, such as school safety, positvie peer relationships, bullying and prevention of bullying, empowered bystanders etc. The most recent edition of the Principal's Pen includes information about the BABES program:

Second grade children are participating in the BABES Program (Beginning Awareness Basic Education Series). This is a primary intervention program that provides factual information on alcohol and other drugs and introduces decision making and coping skills.

The puppet characters help our second graders talk about self-image, feelings, peer pressure, decision making, coping skills and alcohol and drug information.

Mrs. Conway and Miss DeLiberty conduct BABES lessons between Feb.14 and March 30. The BABES program uses puppetry to present situations and conduct class discussions.
