Looking for summer enrichment opportunities? The counseling office has compiled a list of a wide variety of summer activities offered at many colleges.  Earn college credit, explore career oppportunities or travel -- there's a world of oppportunity out there for someone looking for an exciting way to spend the summer!  Click here for a list of the opportunities available.

Scholarships:  Applications are now available in the Counseling suite for the Broomall Rotary's $1500 scholarships for seniors who are Marple Twp. residents and in the top 50% of the graduating class.  All forms and documentation must be received by April 21 so pick up your application today. Other scholarship opportunities are available for download here.

The Newtown Square Business and Professional Association Dick Pound Scholarship applications have arrived.  Just stop in the Counseling Suite and ask for #104.  You must be a family member or an employee of a member of the Newtown Square Business and Professional Association.  Letters of recommendation and essay are required.  Submission deadline is May 15.

Rotary Club of Newtown Square Scholarships – scholarship(s)  up to $1500 for local students – based on 3.0 minimum gpa and other factors such as need, community service, athletics, etc.  All materials must be received by Thursday, May 1.  Pick up Scholarship application number 105 in the Counseling Office ASAP if interested.

Marple Newtown Scholarship Fund -- The Marple-Newtown Scholarship Fund, Inc. has scholarship monies available for those graduating seniors who have provided volunteer service or aid to benefit others in our community and school.  Please pick up an application in the  Counseling Suite and return the completed application and required essay by May 23 at 2 p.m.

SAT Prep — Marple Newtown High School has partnered with CollegeBoard and "The Official SAT Online Course," a personalized and interactive online course featuring 18 lessons, 3 official practice tests, practice questions, personalized feedback, answer explanations and an auto essay scoring feature. Students can go to: www.collegeboard.com/satonlinecourseschool and in the "students" box, click register now. If you do not have the school code for logging in, please visit the Counseling office for an online student registration card. Please contact your counselor if you have any questions or problems accessing the program.


Coming up in the Counseling Office:

  • March 3-7 -- Counselors meeting with all juniors to complete College Board personality/interest assessment.
  • April 28 -- MNHS counselors host college panel, 7-8:30 p.m.  All students in grades 9 through 12 and their parents are welcome.
