Re-Registration for Multiple Occupancy or Sworn Statement
Dear Parent(s)/Guardian(s):
Marple Newtown School District requires that all persons who signed a Multiple Occupancy or Sworn Statement to make an appointment in the Registration Office to prove that circumstances have not changed. In order for your child to continue his/her education in Marple Newtown School District, you are required to re-register your student. The parent/guardian and resident need to present the following documents:
- Proof of Age/Birth: Acceptable documentation includes birth certificate, baptismal certificate or transcript of the record of baptism duly certified and showing the date of birth, duly attested transcript of the birth certificate, duly certified transcript of birth, or passport.
- Parental Identification: Two forms of ID required with Marple or Newtown Township address: PA driver’s license/PA photo ID, PA vehicle registration, PA voter’s registration, pay stub, or bank statement.
- Proof of Residency: Option I — Current Lease (Landlord certification letter required if lease is month to month or otherwise not current); Deed; or Mortgage book or statement with address. OR Option II — Utility bill-Most recent, with owner’s name and address (Telephone, Cable, Electric, or Water)
The parent/ guardian will need to complete and sign a re-registration form at the time of re-registration. All Documents are required to be notarized.
All Multiple Occupancy (Student & Parent(s)/Guardian(s) living with a District Resident) and Section 1302 (Student resides with a custodial District Resident) applications for re-registration will be processed at the Marple Newtown School District Administration Building at Room - 110 at the Gauntlett Center. Please contact 610-359-4260 to schedule an appointment.
If the residence is a leased or rental property, then the lessee must provide the school district in addition to the proof of residency a Permission To Reside Form from the owner of record or his agent, granting permission for the parties involved to reside at the residence.
Please make an appointment for Multiple Occupancy and Section 1302 re-registrations.
Please bring all of the necessary documents with you at the time of re-registration. Partial documentation can not be accepted.
Until the student’s re-registration is completed, he or she will not be eligible to begin school. The burden of proof in establishing current legal residency rests with the parent/guardian of the student. Please be advised that this procedure is required for each and every year that your family resides in the Multiple Occupancy situation.
