2017 National Merit SemiFinalists Announced

The principal, Dr. Gregory Puckett, of Marple Newtown High School announced that Regina Fairbanks, Phillip Missan, and Sara Danenhower, have been name Semifinalist Students in the 2017 National Merit Scholarship Program. In each annual National Merit Scholarship Program, about 50,000 academically talented high school students are honored, but only some 16,000 of them are named Semifinalists. Students who qualify as Semifinalists based on their performance on the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT ®) are the only program participants who have an opportunity to advance to the Finalist level and compete for National Merit Scholarships. About 7,500 of the outstanding Finalists will be chosen as Merit Scholarship® winners in the 2017 competition.  Congratulations Regina, Phillip, and Sara!

2017 National Merit Commended Students Announced

The principal, Dr. Gregory Puckett, of Marple Newtown High School announced that Julia Gloninger, Karch Klos, and Beneshia Matthew have been named Commended Students in the 2017 National Merit Scholarship Program. About 34,000 Commended Students throughout the nation are being recognized for their exceptional academic promise. Although they will not continue in the 2017 competition for National Merit Scholarship awards, Commended Students placed among the top five percent of more than 1.6 million students who entered the 2017 competition by taking the 2015 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT ®.) Congratulations Julia, Karch, and Beneshia!

Under “Quick Links,” you will see a link entitled “Calendar of Events.” Open “Calendar of Events” in order to view events/activities happening across the district or at your own student’s school. Use the filter menu to select the school you want to view.

You can also see “Calendar of Events” and “Academic Calendar” using the header across the top of the webpage. Click on “District Calendar” on the header and you will see the drop down choices for our calendars.

Back to School Night September 29, 2016
