Parent Teacher Organization -- Fundraising for 2008-2009

       We would like to explain to you what our fundraisers are this year to give each family the opportunity to decide which fundraiser would be best. This year we know a lot of families need to cut back on their spending. We, in no way, expect every family to participate in every fundraiser. We also want each family to be aware of the services that the PTO provides to the students and families at Worrall Elementary School.

This year, the majority of our funds raised will go towards purchasing new playground equipment. This will be our priority until all the playground equipment is replaced. Our goal is to replace it all within 3 years maximum. Our current playground equipment is older, wooden equipment that will not pass safety inspections after this year. Please take the time to look at the diagrams of the new playground equipment in the glass display case in the front lobby of Worrall. The playground equipment is all durable plastic-type equipment that will last longer. Other portions of our funds go toward class trips, assemblies, The Annual Family Cookout, staff appreciation, horticulture, yearbook, & other activities.

               The fundraisers are listed below by categories:

1.  As A Service To Worrall Families - these fundraisers are ones that people request year after year

• County Press- It is $20 a year for a subscription. Worrall gets $7.50 for new subscriptions & $3 for renewals. Offer good until Oct. 31, 2008.
• Kidstuff Books- Book filled with coupons for discounts at a variety of stores. Cost is $25. Worrall gets $12.50!
• Flower Sales- Fall and/or Spring flowers
• Holiday Shop - The kids get an opportunity during school to purchase low cost holiday gifts for their family.
• Wachovia Events- Offers to attend a specific Wachovia event at a discount for the whole family.                                            
• Worrall Wares- T-shirts, sweatshirts, sweatpants, and other items TBA with Worrall insignias.

 2.  No Cost To You Fundraisers- Opportunities for you to generate funds for Worrall with no cost to you.

• Acme Receipts- Send your receipts into school & Acme will give us 1% of the total up to $5000 a year!
• Box Tops for Education coupons- Those little coupons on many items you buy & use around the house are worth 10 cents each. Kimberly-Clark will give Worrall up to $20,000 a year!!! See www.boxtopsforeducation.com for the list of products or more information.
• Campbell Soup Labels- The labels are worth points & each year, the principal gets to select items from a catalog for the school.
• SCRIP- These cards can be purchased for Acme, Giant, & Swiss Farms in different increments. 5% of the total card amount is donated to the school!
• Target Credit Cards- Use your REDcard & Target will donate up to 1% of the amount of each purchase to Worrall. Just register at www.Target.com/tcoe .  Or call 1-800-316-6142. Worrall’s ID # is 90106.

3.  Fundraisers- Items that you can purchase or events that you can attend that raise money for Worrall.

• Innisbrook Fall Gift Catalog- a variety of items including food & wrapping paper. Worrall receives 50%!  The exciting thing about this company is that if you decide to reorder items later in the year, Worrall will still receive proceeds from the sale.
• Market Day- You may have tasted some samples from Market Day on Back to School night but, if not, visit www.marketday.com to see the variety of foods offered that are conveniently delivered to Worrall.
• Pizza Bingo- Pizza, bingo, raffles- a night of fun for the whole family!
• Value Cards-discounts for different businesses in Broomall & Newtown Square that can be used over & over for a whole year. For more info, click here.
• Walk-a-thon- a healthy activity that raises money for the school with a portion of the proceeds going to a local charity.
