Dear Marple Newtown School District Staff and Families,
I am writing to inform you on January 7, 2020 the School Board approved an administrative change that will take place in the Pupil Services Department.
Dr. Andrea Chipego will serve as the substitute Director of Pupil Services effective January 8, 2020, through the end of this school year or until a permanent replacement is hired. Dr. Chipego is a retired educator who is currently serving as an Independent Education Consultant with the Chester County Intermediate Unit, which provides services to Delaware, Chester, and Montgomery Counties.
Dr. Chipego obtained her Doctoral Degree from Widener University in Educational Leadership. She brings an abundance of experience and knowledge to the position. For more than five years, she served as a School Psychologist and Interim Director of Student Services at Marple Newtown School District before leaving for Radnor Township School District, where she served as Director of Student Services and Special Education for nearly 13 years. Following her successful tenure at Radnor, she was hired at Tredyffrin/Easttown School District as the Director of Individualized Student Services and Special Education where she served for more than six years until she recently retired.
Not only has Dr. Chipego have a myriad of experiences in public education, but she is also a Pennsylvania licensed Registered Nurse who was an instructor in nursing at Wilkes Barre General Hospital and a registered nurse at Mountainside Hospital in Montclair, New Jersey.
